As the Utah Senate Democrats, we serve the most diverse districts in our state. We know that our diversity is our strength, and with that comes a diverse set of needs. This page outlines some key organizations and agencies that assist with voting, immigration, legal help, housing, food assistance, disability assistance, labor concerns and more. Immigration & Legal Aid
No Mas advocates on behalf of and together with individuals from immigrant, migrant, and refugee backgrounds to strengthen our communities.
The Pro Bono Initiative (PBI) is a volunteer program that provides free brief legal advice to members of the Utah community. PBI does not provide direct legal representation and cannot represent you in court or file paperwork on your behalf.
The Community Legal Clinic provides free legal services to those in need. Second and third year law students under the direction of Professor Carl Hernandez represent clients in matters including immigration, contracts, housing, and other matters. Citizenship and other community classes are also taught at the clinic.

Housing
Since 1970, the Housing Authority of Salt Lake City (HASLC) has provided affordable housing to low-income families in Salt Lake County.
Family Support
We offer nationally accredited toddler, preschool, afterschool, and summer programs for children age 15 months to 12 years old. We also provide day care and support services for adults who need supervised care during the day, allowing more adults in our community to age in place.
Food Assistance
For 60 years Crossroads Urban Center has helped low income individuals and families with food and clothing while promoting policies that reduce hunger, homelessness and poverty in Utah.
The pantry is open for customers on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, from 11:00-1:30 and Thursday from 5:00-6:30. Customers MUST be in line 15 minutes before closing to be service (by 1:15 on T/W/F and by 6:15 on Th)
By offering access to free fresh produce and canned goods, we provide valuable meal supplementation while helping those in need maintain their independence and dignity. This is a client-choice pantry, customers can choose items based on their family needs and preferences.
Disability Aid
The Disability Law Center advances and enforces the legal rights, choices, and opportunities of Utahns with disabilities.
Labor Issues
The Utah Labor Commission plays a vital role in Utah’s economy by ensuring safety and fairness in the workplace and housing.
