Welcoming the Lao-American Buddhist Monks Council

Senator Luz Escamilla and legislative leaders hosted and welcomed the Lao-American Buddhist Monks Council and members of the Lao-American community to the Capitol to commence their 2022 Annual General Conference!

During the Utah Senate's Advice & Consent this week, a formal citation was read to honor the community and celebrate our shared values of religious freedom, religious tolerance, and cultural appreciation. Senator Luz Escamilla and President J. Stuart Adams co-signed the citation!

Speeches by lawmakers and beautiful, traditional Lao dance performances concluded yesterday’s event. It was a wonderful opportunity for lawmakers to engage in interfaith dialogue and celebrate the traditions of the Lao-American community!
