Senate Minority Whip Luz Escamilla
On Tuesday, Senator Escamilla attended the Clean Air Caucus and talked about SB 112 - Inland Port Amendments which creates sustainable standards of development for the development of the Inland Port. In addition, her Personal License Plate Amendments (SB 97) bill passed the Senate second reading calendar and will be heard for final passage at the start of next week.

Senate Minority Assistant Whip Jani Iwamoto
On Wednesday, Senator Iwamoto was awarded by the Utah Commission on Aging and Utah Fall Alliance for all her work with seniors and fall prevention. In addition to receiving this award, her Water Banking Amendments bill passed out of the House this week, officially passing through the Legislature. This bill enacts the Water Banking Act, which provides for the creation of voluntary water banks organized by local water users to administer market transactions for the temporary use of water rights.

Senate Minority Caucus Manager Derek Kitchen
Senator Kitchen had a busy week working on his Electric Energy Storage Tax Credit legislation (SB 77), which is now on the Senate third reading calendar. On Thursday, he attended the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and discussed with his constituents the issues most important them. He also attended the Clean Air Caucus alongside many of his colleagues.

Senator Gene Davis
This week, Senator Davis' Circuit Breaker Amendments bill (SB 35), which provides property tax relief to aging individuals with very low incomes, passed the Senate and will now be heard in the House for further consideration. In addition, he attended the South Salt Lake City Town Hall and addressed homelessness concerns in the community. SB 103 was introduced this week as well, which would allow residents to subscribe to wine clubs and pick up their wine at any DABC location.
