Legislative Democrats have released a budget proposal that slashes wasteful government spending, ends frivolous lawsuits, reigns in unnecessary kickbacks and funds education at higher levels than in recent history.
The Democratic budget prioritizes a 4.5% WPU increase for public education, funding for air quality monitoring and state run elections.
Senate Democratic Assistant Minority Whip Luz Escamilla said, “Supporting law enforcement and promoting higher education to create a stable and sustainable economy is vital.”
House Democratic Whip Joel Briscoe added, “It’s past time we invest in Utah’s children, Utah’s air and environment, and Utah’s workers and their families. We met these priorities in the Democratic budget. We know it can be done.”
