Reducing the Number of Foreclosures in Utah

Sen. Ben McAdams and Rep. LaVar Christensen are proposing legislation to implement programs to stem the tide of foreclosures in Utah.The Deseret News takes note of a roundtable discussion held by McAdams and Christensen on Tuesday evening.

The housing crisis in Utah is tipping in the wrong direction and requires a solution, said Sen. Ben McAdams, D-Salt Lake.

“The reality is that we’ve got an unprecedented crisis that needs to be addressed and we want to do that in a way that is responsible,” he said following a public forum Tuesday at the Senate building of the State Capitol complex. “What I think we’re trying to do is restore transparency to the real estate process.”

  1. We bailed out the banks and forgot the citizens. It would have cost less, help more families, saved more homes, reduced the drop in homes values, if you simply lowered every government loan to 4 % 30 yr fixed rated, and lowered their loan balance to todays real value. Why can’t our representatives see the simple answers work?
